Mathews High School student earn Twenty under 20 nomination emma

A Mathews High School student is among some of the county’s most impressive young leaders. The Tribune Chronicle, along with Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley and Kent State University Trumbull recently unveiled their 2020 Class of Twenty Under 20, which includes Mathews High School senior Emma Gates.

Mathews Local Schools purchases more than 260 Chromebooks through Emergency Connectivity Fund  chromebooks

The Mathews Local School District has purchased 264 Chromebooks thanks to the FCC’s Emergency Connectivity Fund. In August, the Mathews Technology Department applied for the funding to purchase the Chromebooks.  In October, the district received confirmation of its approval.  The Chromebooks will be used for day-to-day learning activities, as well as supporting blended learning and remote learning learning models  that are now essentials to effective instructional operations. 

Student hunters invited to participate in second annual Biggest Deer Contest deer

This hunting season, student hunters who attend Mathews Local Schools are invited to participate in friendly competition while enjoying time with their families outdoors.  The idea started last year when Mathews Local Schools’ School Resource Officer Steve Smith was approached by Fowler Police Chief Mike Currington with the idea of hosting a biggest deer competition for student hunters in the district.
