SCHOOL INFORMATION 2021-2022

SCHOOL DAYS

Currie opens to students at 8:15 a.m.  Formal instructions begins at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 3:10 p.m.  Any student arriving after 8:30 a.m. must be signed in by an adult using a form at the front door.  Any student being picked up at the end of the day must be signed up for permanent pick up OR come to school with a note indicating who will be picking the child up at the end of the.  This individual must be listed as an emergency contact in FamilyID.

VISITORS

During regular school hours  ALL visitors must use the front entrance and sign in at the main office.  All other doors are locked for safety. A visitor's button must be obtained and worn by anyone preceding to any part of the building other than the main office.  Any person visiting the building must have permission to enter before arriving at the school.

ATTENDANCE

On the day as the student is to be absent,  the student's parents, legal guardian or other responsible person is to notify the school by 10:00 a.m.  A secretary is on duty at 8:00 a.m. to answer calls. You are also able to leave a message on the school phone at any hour.  Students must still bring in a written excuse upon returning to school.

EMERGENCY SCHOOL CLOSINGS

An ALL CALL message will be sent to your designated phone number in the event of emergency notifications.  In the event that weather or emergency conditions necessitate the closing of school, information will be announced on the following TV and radio stations: WBBW, WRRO, WKBN,  WQXK, WPIC, WHOT, WYFM, WANR, WYSU & Channels 21, 27 and 33. School closings will be announced between 6:00 AM and 7 AM.

REPORT CARDS

Report cards are given on the Friday following the end of each nine week period.

GRADING

The following grading scale will be used to determine grades.

90% - 100%   = A

80% - 89%      = B

70% - 79%      = C

60% - 69%      = D

59% and below = F

93% - 100%     O = Outstanding

75% - 92%      S = Satisfactory

65%-74%          NI = Needs Improvement

64% and below U= Unsatisfactory
