In the event that weather conditions necessitate the closing of school, information will be communicated via an all call phone message to families, and broadcast on the local TV and radio stations. School closings will be announced between 6:00 am and 7:00 am.

GRADING 

The following grade scale will be used to determine grades.
A = 100%-90%
B = 89%-80%
C = 79%-70%
D = 69%-60%
F = 59% and below

93%-100% O = Outstanding
75%-92% S = Satisfactory
65%-74% NI = Needs Improvement
64% and below - U - Unsatisfactory

ACADEMIC RECOGNITION

To be eligible for Academic Recognition a student must receive all A's, B's, S's, and O's for the yearly average. An Academic Recognition Certificate will be given on the last day of school.

Mathews Jr. Sr. High School

SCHOOL DAY 

Mathews High School doors opens to students at 6:50 a.m. Please do not drop off your children before 6:50 a.m. as there will be no one to supervise their activity.  Our student's instructional day begins at 7:10 a.m. and will end at 2:15 p.m.

VISITORS

During regular school hours all visitors must use the front entrance and sign in at the main office. All other doors are locked for safety. A visitor's button must be worn by anyone proceeding to any part of the building other than the main office.

ATTENDANCE

On the day a student is to be absent, parents, legal guardian or other responsible person is to notify the school by 9:00 a.m. A secretary is on duty at 7:00 a.m. to answer calls. Students must still bring in a written excuse upon returning to school.

Baker Elementary School

SCHOOL DAY 

Baker Elementary opens to students at 8:10 a.m. Please do not drop off your children before 8:10 a.m. as there will be no one to supervise their activity. Formal instruction begins at 8:25 a.m. and concludes at 3:05 p.m.  Any student arriving after 8:25 a.m. must be signed in by an adult using a form at the front door. Any student being picked up at the end of the day must be signed up for permanent pick up OR come to school with a note indicating who will be picking the child up at the end of the.  This individual must be listed as an emergency contact in FamilyID.
