Mathews High School earns College Success Award goldaward

Mathews High School has been awarded the 2021 College Success Award from GreatSchools.org for its excellence in preparing students for college and beyond. In addition to winning this year’s award, Mathews High School has also been selected as one of only 1,770 schools across the nation to win the inaugural College Success Award - Gold - an additional, elevated level of distinction that recognizes schools that have a multiyear track record for college success.

Mathews High School student earns Girl Scouts Silver Award after decorating Baker Elementary School with positive messages kaylee

The stall doors in the girls’ bathroom at Baker Elementary School were recently decorated with positive messages.  Mathews High School freshman Kaylee Scott is behind the artwork that adorns the doors.  It was all a part of Scott’s “Inspiration for Girls” project that helped earn her Girl Scout’s Silver Award.

Student hunters invited to participate in second annual Biggest Deer Contest deer

This hunting season, student hunters who attend Mathews Local Schools are invited to participate in friendly competition while enjoying time with their families outdoors.  The idea started last year when Mathews Local Schools’ School Resource Officer Steve Smith was approached by Fowler Police Chief Mike Currington with the idea of hosting a biggest deer competition for student hunters in the district.
