Greetings to our Mathews Families, Staff and Community,
It is a great day to be a Mustang!
It has been a great start to the 2024-2025 school year, and I am excited to share with you our next project for the Mathews Local School District! I am thrilled to say the Mathews team has been busy, behind the scenes, making plans for a new elementary gymnasium! On August 28, 2024, we began the bidding process with a Request for Qualifications, and we plan to select a design builder on October 16, 2024.
This $2.2 million-dollar project is being funded as follows:
Unused Elementary Addition Project funds $875,000
Interest Accrued from Elementary Addition Project Funds $175,000
Sale of Board Office Property Proceeds $440,000
General Funds $150,000
Permanent Improvement Funds $270,000
Classroom Facility Funds $290,000
The most important element to share with you is the Mathews Local School District is not asking the community for a levy or new money to fund this project! The current budget will support this endeavor and make a difference for the Mathews students and the community for many years to come.
