On Friday, Mathews Elementary School wrapped up Random Acts of Kindness Week with a "Kindness to Animals" program in partnership with the National Humane Education Society (NHES).
Leading up to the event, students collected and donated dog and cat treats to support animal welfare efforts. On Friday, February 21, students enjoyed a special screening of Balto before participating in hands-on activities with an NHES educator and Vader, the ambassador dog!
The program kicked off at 12:45 p.m. for grades K-2 and continued at 1:45 p.m. for grades 3-5, giving students a fun and educational opportunity to learn about kindness and compassion for animals.
