Mathews Elementary School welcomed a special guest this week—Hollywood prop master and Warren native John Zabrucky. Zabrucky, known for his work on iconic films such as Ghostbusters, Blade Runner, Men in Black, and numerous Star Trek titles, shared his journey from a curious fifth grader in Warren City Schools to a creative force in the world of science fiction and fantasy film.
Zabrucky is currently in the area for the exhibition “Sci-Fi + Hollywood: The Art of John Zabrucky,” on display at the Medici Museum of Art in Howland through June 28, and to consult on the future Museum of Science Fiction and Fantasy Arts in Warren. This museum will feature more than 500 props he generously donated to the Trumbull County Historical Society in 2023.
