playground project

Exciting news for Mathews Elementary School! The school is making significant progress on its playground project. The Mathews Board of Education has approved a quote from DWA Recreation-GameTime for new playground equipment and installation, bringing the project closer to reality. The estimated total cost is approximately $390,000, with a matching $100,000 grant from GameTime, reducing the cost to $291,000. Additional funding comes from generous donors, permanent improvement funds and the sale of Currie Elementary School. Construction is expected to be completed by next spring, providing students with an enhanced play area.

They are currently obtaining quotes for the basketball area. Fundraising will continue to support this portion of the project. The preliminary estimate is that the cost will be under $15,000. If you wish to donate, contact Beth Haddle!
