Sixth-grade students in Leslie Konerth’s class at Mathews Junior Senior High School dug into math with a hands-on “Pumpkin Math” lesson! This creative activity introduced students to key statistical concepts — median, mode, mean and range – by measuring pumpkin stems and pumpkin circumferences. They also practiced estimation by counting seeds. Mrs. Konerth even took the seeds home, roasted them. On Friday, students are enjoying the result during English class as they watch The Adventures of Ichabod. It was a perfect end to their Legend of Sleepy Hollow experience!
