On Thursday, March 12, 2026, the Mathews Challenge 24 team earned impressive results at the Trumbull County Challenge 24 Tournament, bringing home seven medals and a first-place finish!
Leading the way was Carson Trumbull, who advanced to the fourth round and earned first place in the 6th grade division.
In total, seven Mathews students advanced to the third round and earned medals. Medalists included Cayleb Holbrook, Adam Leach, Randi Niddel, Carson Trumbull, Logan Freudenrich, Jocelynn Gregory and Eli Kester.
Ten students represented Mathews in the competition across the 6th grade and 7th/8th grade divisions.
The 6th grade team included Carson Trumbull, Adam Leach, and Cayleb Holbrook. Sixth graders Randi Niddel, Lilly White and Timothy White served as alternates and filled in spots in the 7th/8th grade division.
The 7th/8th grade team consisted of Eli Kester, Jocelynn Gregory, Logan Freudenrich and Mackenzie Bartha.
