As part of a classroom activity connected to The Velveteen Rabbit, students at Mathews Elementary recently spent time with a group of real bunnies then helped give them names!
The rabbits, brought in by teacher Etta Atwell who raises them, included five babies that quickly became the stars of the visit. After meeting the bunnies, students shared their ideas and Atwell made her selections! The winning names were Shadow, Bolt, Rootbeer, Strawberry and Phoenix.
