Students in the elementary school’s new chess club recently wrapped up their end-of-year tournament with a championship match and a final challenge against Principal Mr. King!

After advancing through tournament rounds held during the week of May 4, Brycen Lautanen defeated Layden Sapp to earn the title of Chess Club champion.

As part of the tournament tradition, Brycen then faced Principal Mr. King in a final match and earned another victory to finish the tournament undefeated.
