Our students at Mathews Elementary School are loving their new playgrounds!

The playground project is officially complete, giving students two new inclusive playgrounds designed specifically for elementary students in grades K–5.

One playground is designed for students in grades K–2, while the other is designed for students in grades 3–5. Both feature age-appropriate equipment and safety features that encourage outdoor play, exploration and physical activity.

This project was made possible through a wonderful partnership between the HERD Foundation and Mathews Local School District. HERD contributed $52,000, while the district contributed approximately $126,000, funded through proceeds from the sale of Curry Elementary School.
